CSP showmatch hit by DDoS

By KLUTCH on 21.03.10 23:48h

The showmatch between fnatic and Reason-Gaming has been rescheduled due to a Denial of Service attack.

Tonight was the night where two of the world's best teams, fnatic (CS1.6) and Reason-Gaming (CS:S), would face eachother in a showmatch in CSPromod.

The match was scheduled to start at 20:00 CET, but was delayed due to server problems. Eventually the game started and fnatic took the lead by 15-9 on de_nuke. The server then stalled and the players disconnected.

Due to a DDoS attack the match could not continue, and it has now been rescheduled to an unknown date and time. In addition, the LO3 show was also hit by a small attack but the host was quick enough to avoid it.

Kritikal has today left Dignitas. His reasons for leaving the team is because he wants to continue his education and go to university.

The image “http://static.hltv.org//images/flag/uk.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. Luke 'KritikaL' Green has announced his departure from CS and Dignitas to further his education and go to university.

The replacement for KritikaL is non other than Stuart 'Harriman' Harriman. You can probably remember Harriman from the days when he used to play for 4Kings.

Dignitas now looks like:

4Kings.css loses ritch

By KLUTCH on 02.08.07 14:00h

http://www.thejadegarden.com/files/team_pics/4KINGS.jpgJust before The eXperience -LAN 4Kings faces change on their lineup. Not long ago ritch decided to leave 4Kings and forced them to look for substitute. Luckily it didn't took too long and se.gif HaZ joined on short notice. This will of course have some effect on 4Kings skill level.

4K^Ben said:

The decision by ritch to leave the team came as a bit of a shock, especially with the experience LAN taking place tomorrow. Ritch informed us of his fear of flying around a week ago(when we originally went to book flights) despite our best efforts, being assured he will go with the team and booking his flight he still refused to go.

This proves a problem for 4Kings CSS not only in the immediate future but in the long-run, as mentioned we will be using HaZ for TEX/i31 and we already have someone lined up to join the roster after i31, news on that to come.

Regarding not arriving on time for teX, we were led to believe the tournament would start on the Saturday, once we found out it started at 6pm Friday(we arrive at Copenhagen airport at 5) i spoke to one of the tex admins who confirmed it was to start at 6pm but they would push our games back for us to give us time to get to the event

I’d like to thank Ritch for all he has done while being part of 4Kings and wish him good luck in the future.

Ritch has joined Team Zboard for i31 and Haz has replaced ritch for the eX and i31.

From the Devoted crew, 'Good luck in the future buddy!'

Adastra becomes NoA.css

By KLUTCH on 01.08.07 14:00h

NoA Logo

Most people who have followed the Counter-Strike 1.6 scene a bit over the last years should have a slight idea who NoA is and what kind of heritage they brought
to that community, yet it didn't end there. Over the last months and years this solely Counter-Strike 1.6 based team has invested in several other promising games and players.

Their Korean Warcraft III squad has somewhat been successful in their broad and difficult game while participating in the biggest Warcraft III leagues, next to that their current Counter-Strike 1.6 team has been known to hand out humiliating defeats to some of the best teams in the world, proven by a 2nd place finish at the latest Electronic Sports World Cup in Paris, France.

But today the organisation decided to venture into a new direction and pick up another promising squad of youngsters, this time they chose a team in the younger stepbrother of Counter-Strike 1.6. Yet these are not a team to mess with as their recent successes have told and proven, the Swedish Counter-Strike: Source players of Adastra are one of the top contenders for the coming The-Experience LAN in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The five players that are a part of the new NoA squad have come together from various Swedish top notch teams such as Team-Dignitas and Check-Six, of whom both were considered to be a real menace to the European Counter-Strike: Source competitions and leagues. The vast amount of experience gathered by all players has contributed to one of their most recent achievements, qualifying for the Region #3 Championship Gaming Series Combine event after a close loss to Fnatic during the online final.

We'd like to wish them the best of luck and hopefully they will be successful in The-Experience event this weekend, proving they are a force to reckon with.
Statement Thabeus: "With the CS:S-Team, we are following the way we started in November 2006 to become a Multigamingclan. We are happy that we found this great team that represents us in the CounterStrike:Source-scene. The players demonstrated in the past that they can play for top-places in the international scene. CounterStrike:Source evolved, next to its big brother CounterStrike, in the past 2 years and reached a place in the highest league in germany and get more and more attention.. To give consideration to the growth and the development we decided to take a CS:S team to NoA and we are looking forward to a good teamwork. At the same time we can announce that this is not the last step in this year. We wish all players all the best at the experience LAN in Denmark where you are able to see the team the first time under the flag of Team NoA."

Statement vanillah: "We are happy and pleased to be a part of the NoA organisation. We were in touch with a few other organisations before NoA. But nothing felt like 100%. But when NoA came along and we started to negotiate. We felt like this was it. With NoA in our backs with financial support and a strong management in NoA this cant go wrong. We have always had high but realistic goals in the team. The players can now focus 100% on the game instead of worrying about stuff around the game. We have a huge name to live up to. But we feel confident that we will have a great time in NoA and that the success is just around the corner. With the eXperience LAN in Denmark just around the corner and the CGS combine coming up and leading the SGL invite league our self confidence is top notch. And joining a team like NoA in the middle of all of this is just a great feeling to have."

Statement haunted: "Dear friends and enemies of the internet, today is a great day for adastra! After resurrecting the team a couple of months ago, things have progressed really fast. We qualified for the CGS combine and are well underway to finish 1st and undefeated in TheSGL Invite league. Knowing that the CGS combine was coming up, we decided to find ourselves a new, professional home in order to take our gaming to the next level. After a lot of hoping and praying, Thabeus (CEO of NoA), decided that we should have a talk. Things just said "click" instantly! NoA was our nr. 1 choice to start with and apparently, we were theirs. We know exactly what we want out of gaming and NoA is without a doubt the most trustworthy and professional organisation out there. Our goal right now is to live up to the huge, legendary name that is NoA. The first stop on this journey is the eXperience LAN in Denmark (3-5 august). After that we have the CGS combine, most likely in a month. Hopefully we will make René and all the other lovely people of NoA proud!"

WSVG event location announced: London

By H-Force on 29.07.07 21:10h

After many months, the mysterious location of the World Series of Video Games "Europe" tournament has been uncovered. It will be London.

This year's WSVG was originally supposed to be five events and a finals event at the DreamHack LAN in Sweden. The last competition before the finals was to take place somewhere in Europe.

It was announced recently that the location will be London, UK, and the event will take place on November 16-18. It will feature all of the WSVG main games (Quake 4, Fight Night Round 3, Guitar Hero 2, World of Warcraft) and an additional Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament with a $30,000 prize purse. Eleven days before the finals, London will be the last chance for players and teams to earn enough points to qualify for the finals.

The entire tour kicked off in Wuhan, China in May, then moved to Kentucky in June and Dallas in July. The next stop will be the recently-added event in Toronto, Canada on the last weekend of August. From there on it is only Los Angeles in the second half of October and London.

Devoted welcomes Josh 'auso' Goodwin!

By chr1ss on 16.07.07 19:01h

We are delighted to announce a new player to the Call of Duty 2 section!

In recent weeks, the team has suffered slight inactivity due to two players, corp and LuNII, both being on holiday. The team decided to call upon an ex-teammate of vasquez to stand in for the CODQCUP July edition and TGL in order to continue preperation for i31.

Josh performed so well in these games, the team decided to bring him into the main lineup ready for i31 as we believe his lan experiance and sniping skills will prove vital.

Josh has an impressive history ranging from 2nd place at i29 with team c4u to being involved with the recent Reason Gaming team with vasquez and team 4G.

Josh's lan experiance will prove vital at i31 and we are confident he will perform well on lan as he has been online in recent weeks. The team has been preparing exceptionally well beating top EU teams in this months edition of CODQCUP as we are now down to the last six teams!

Devoted.COD2 lineup for i31:

PAL leaves without [R]eason

By twrs on 15.07.07 11:03h

A few months back we saw the UK organisation of Reason-Gaming undergoing line-up changes for some time and very frequent. Last month the team decided on the final line-up and it has stayed up until very recently, where their Dutch back-up player, nl.gif PAL has removed himself from their roster.

The change became apparent after Reason competed in the CODQCUP, where they were among the few invinted, yet only managed a win over their first German opponents, Raptor-Gaming (16-14), shortly after this we saw the squad lose to Logitech.fi (08:13) and finally SolarStorm (11:13); both games Reason seemed very disapointed with their results.

After losing PAL, the Reason-Gaming line-up is as followed:

ie.gif KarL

uk.gif NiGGLE

no.gif tORSh

uk.gif wiz

fi.gif Fuku

Good Luck from DevotedGaming.
